The 3CX Phone System seems to have no SIP link monitoring. Does anyone know if the is right ? When a SIP phone lost his network connection during a call and so the BYE diagram gets lost, the call stays (forever ?) active. At least for some hours I have seen. If the user do not uses a phone client (Windows Client, Webclient) the user will not get noticed about that and does not get any incoming calls anymore and he also cannot terminate this “gost call”. I think this is an issue. If I be informed correctly other SIP systems uses the SIP OPTIONS diagram to get the current status of an endpoint and it seems that is missing in 3CX.

Any opinions ?

I have found the SIPPINGPERIOD parameter but this is set to 0 (disabled) by default. Does anyone know something about this ? Are there any drawbacks ? I have set it to 10 and the call will than terminated know 10 seconds after a connection failure of the phone. But why it it disabled by default ?

Hello @StefanK

This option will keep sending keep alive messages to your provider on external calls and most providers will blacklist you if you keep sending them messages like that. That is why this option is disabled.
