Multiple sipgate registrations with “random” sip id´s f

Hi,

I registered sipgate.at successfully. In- and outbound calls are possible. However, 3CX registers all the time with different SIP ID´s. Hence, sipgate seems to identify each registration as different SIP end node (telephone). As you can see the rinstance=SIP ID changes all the time. Moreover, 3CX registers very often even without in or outboud calls. It seems it ignores the SIP registration timer which is default 3600 seconds. After 50 registrations sipgate.at deny new registration attempts. Is it possible to provision a static SIP ID for lines. Why does 3CX change the SIP ID on lines all the time. The SIP ID is usually static it is on a Cisco phone 7960 typically the type of phone and firmware version loaded. Thanks for you help!

3CX log after 50 successful registrations = 50 devices registered in sipgate.at for one PBX

11:07:23.424 ClientRegs::eek:nFailure [CM113006] Registration of sip:[email protected] has failed; reason=Service Unavailable 11:07:23.127

Hi,

Please add information about what contact was specified by 3CX for each of registrations. Probably it will answer for a lot of questions...

Could you please explain, what is a "rinstance" parameter? What RFC describes how it should be used(interpreted) by SIP based system?

Where "3600" is defined as recommended?

Thanks

Hi,

well, contact will likely be To: <sip:[email protected]>. The "rinstanc" shows up as SIP ID. If the phone is directly connected it shows the hardware type and the firmware version. Now it looks like:

Contact: <sip:[email protected]:1042;rinstance=2c627817f8a26853>
To: "xxxxx"<sip:[email protected]>
From: "xxxx"<sip:[email protected]>;tag=9d77e719

3600 seconds is the default registration time, but 3xc sends register requests very 2 or 3 minutes. It turned off in-out call registration and set it to none. Line status is now red, but still working until i reached the 50 entries at sipgate.at.

I recommend you open a sipgate.at account. Configure a standard line with the sipagte.de template and watch the registration entries at the web portal of sipgate.at as well as the 3CX logs. You will likely see tons of registraion events (up to 50). Other user report this happen only with the actual 3CX version. Older releases to not have such a behavior.

Contact data for lines, well this happens with only one line, too. 3CX creates the contact out of the "authentication id" and the "password". Nothing else configured. Not proxy, not sipgate specific stun server. Btw. I don’t need a stun server at all, it is possible to disable the default stun requests.

Is "bold" text the same for all entries provided in previous post?
Why it is not sorted by time?

I need to ask you again:

Hi,

yes, it is the same for all entries; which maks sense, because is is allways the same socket on the router (for 3600 seconds in our case). The router is a Cisco box. Cisco can do socket translation based on SIP requests. It converts the embedded privat addresses into the outside official. STUN is not necessary.

Don´t know why sipgate.at did not sort it by time. However, all entries are generated by the 3CX registration requests. You can see the registration events at the same time in the 3CX local logs.

Note, i disabled registration (automatic) now for sipagte.at in 3CX. All entries at sipgate.at are gone because of the timers (normal behavior). Manual registration is not possible anymore, because 3CX did not generate a registration request if you press the button "register line". Manual registration should always possible, istn´t it?

Harald,

If you need a help or answer for your questions then just restart PBX, and after line will not be registered anymore collect logs (generate support info)

You said that that it happens too often (reregistration with new "sip id"), then it will not take too much time.

Thanks
