Music while call is transfered

    Why doesnt the caller get music while they are being transfered to a ring group? Or, how is it possible to get music while they are waiting for someone to pic up the phone??

    it doesnt work for me. May be because i transfer to an external number. But if noone answer the phone the caller is routed back to the pbx... Is there a possibility to get music on hold while transfering to external number?

    (i have set up extentions to forward directly to an external number, and included theese extentions in a ring group)

    It should work out of the box. Are you running Windows 2008 as server for 3CX, because then you may have to install the Desktop Experience feature before MP3 files are correctly played.

    im using windows 2003 as a server for 3cx. Do i need to install Desktop Experience feature to get it work? Where do i find it?

    Is another option to make a music-on-hold.wav? (that is not the best option thou, because of all the other mp3 prompt, that may not work)

    No, desktop experience is a Windows 2008 feature. Windows 2003 should support it by default. You can try to see if it works with a WAV file. You can change the file that's used as MOH from the 3CX settings.

    It still doesnt work. Ive changed the format from mp3 to wav.... (with audacity)
    It is totaly silence after "Please hold, while I transfer your call", but the forwarding is working fine and the external phone is ringing..
    Everything except that is working perfectly!

    I have also tried to transfer only to local phone, but still no music on hold. Even if I answer the phone, and put the caller on hold, music on hold still doesnt work.

    I cant see why music on hold will not work...?

    And you have checked that in the options the correct file is shown?
    When you play the file from your PC, it is audible?
    Can you try to set the log to Verbose (restart the services) and see if anything pops-up in the logs?

    Everything seems fine.

    Cant find any failure message, except this:

    Is it quotation from the "..3cxmediaserver.trace.log or 3cxmediaserver.log..."?

    Although MOH is not restricted to the paid versions of 3CX, I suggest that you try to fix these errors first. Naturally I assume that you are currently running the latest build of 3CX (that has helped me several times already as well). Do you have a paid version of 3CX? than you may need to reregister the license code.

    I cleared the log, and forgot to try to call.

    (I did call 2 times. First i forgot to turn on 3cx client on computer, second time i called, i had turned on the client and it was ringing, but i didt pick up the phone.)

    RFC 3264: An Offer/Answer Model with the Session Description Protocol (SDP)

    If you are trying to debug "Sippy" then please open the support ticket and specify deviations of your software.
    If you need to make it works then:
    "Support reinvites" = off - it will work like a charm (hopefully :) )

    Thank you! It works fine with Support re-invites=off...

    Can u tell me what Support re-invites is, little more spesific?
