Mutually Exclusive Extensions on Single Phone

How best to handle this situation:

Customer has shifts and the 4AM-12PM employee uses same physical phone as 12PM-8PM employee.

Ideally, they would each have their own extension and they would be configured as mutually exclusive. When employee B logs in, employee A goes out office, etc.

What would be a workable solution so that one phone does not need to be "visible" as Desk 107?
