Need to change server

    Dear 3CX team,

    I need to change server.

    What is the exact procedure ?
    Backup of old server, configuration of new server, Restore of backup from old server to new server ?

    Please give me exact steps to proceed with the server changement.

    The ease of the move is dependant on where you are moving from and to, so please outline where your current system is and where you are moving it to. Information about the network and whether you are changing the Public FQDN and IP would also be useful.

    Thank you but in your guide is written that I have to deactive the license but I didn't find where to click "free license".
    You can see the screenshot.
    How can I deactivate the license as your guide ?

    Hi Federico,

    Some of the steps are very dependent on what you are doing and the reason you are migrating to a different server.
    Could you please tell me:

    * The reason for the migration.
    * Where the original server was and where you are moving to (same site, the cloud etc).
    * What type of key is on system 1 and what type will be on the 2nd system (Free key - commercial or commercial to commercial).
    * Network information and topology and any other information.
    * Is your Public IP changing and are you using a 3CX hosted FQDN and SSL or providing yourself.

    I know there is a lot of information here but there are some key points which a required in order to migrate properly for your scenario.

    1) Old cloud server to new cloud server
    2) Same type of Key but on server 1 license will expire this year, on server 2 I will put a new license KEY but still professional license
    3) We use OVH Cloud
    4) Public IP is different even if both are on OVH network.

    This is for version 14, for version 15/15.5 the procedure is different, depends whether you keep the existing FQDN and license. If so, make full backup incl. FQDN and license, install 3CX on a new server and restore backup during installation. If FQDN or license is different, you need a backup without FQDN and license and release the FQDN in 3CX Customer Portal, before new installation.

    License KEY is different, so I make full backup without Key License ?

    Yes, you do. If FQDN is the same, you need to release it via Customer portal beforehand.
