Not able to register...

Hello,

I have downloaded 3cx (free version). No gateway and PSTN lines configured.

As the home page after login in to the webpanel says:

1. Create or Import extensions for your phone system. Each user will have an extension.

2. After you have configured 2 extensions, try calling the other extension to test internal call functionality.

So, I've added to extensions: 10003 and 10004. After creating extensions, I get the following screens, which I have noted down:

Extension Number 10003 was created for User1
You will need to enter these settings into the Users SIP phone:
Proxy server IP or FQDN: 192.168.1.9:5060
User ID: 10003
Authentication ID: 10003
Password: 10003

Extension Number 10004 was created for User2
You will need to enter these settings into the Users SIP phone:
Proxy server IP or FQDN: 192.168.1.9:5060
User ID: 10004
Authentication ID: 10004
Password: 10004

Then I downloaded X-lite and tried to set-up User1 as below :

Display Name: User1
Username: 10003
Password: 10003
Authorization user name: 10003
Domain: 192.168.1.9 (I tried with 192.168.1.9:5060 also)
ticked Register with domain and receive incoming call
checked Target Domain
Dialing Plan: #1\a\a.T;match=1;prestrip=2;

I find, X-lite keeps on trying to register (displaying "Registering...") and after some time it says, "Registration Error 408 - Request Time Out".

I tried the similar with 3cx voip phone too, but could not succeed to register.

Please help where am I doing wrong....

Did you configure correctly the X-Lite to point to your 3CX System?

Did you 3CX system dont have firewall enabled?

Did you look at your 3CX logs for any trace of the error?

408 it's for a timeout error, can't reach the server it's a common error for that.

Today I find that the PBX is in RED which says "PBX server is not running". There's no firewall etc. Earlier I was seeing logs stating only registering Fax service, though I had not enabled any fax service. Now the server status page is blank (no reports).

Please help.

Hi again...

I sorted out by just uninstalling v.5 and installing v3. It's working now.

Don´t use ext like 10003.

Use 2 or 3 or 4 number extensions. 5 number extensions are for extern lines. not for registering user devices.


I think that coud be one of the things why you got trouble.
