Outside office hours

Hello All,

we have a small office with the following office hours 08.00 - 17.00. After these office hours all the incoming calls are going to be routed to an external (mobile) number from one of our employees. Now the problem is the external number to which the incoming calls are needed to go to change from day to day. For example:

Monday 00.00 - 07.59 -> employee 1 should get the incoming calls to his mobile phone
Monday 08.00 - 17.00 -> regular business hours so no problem
Monday 17.01 - 23.59 -> employee 2 should get the incoming calls to his mobile phone
Tuesday 00.00 - 07.59 -> employee 2 should get the incoming calls to his mobile phone
Tuesday 08.00 - 17.00 -> regular bussines hours so no problem
Tuesday 17.01 - 23.59 -> employee 1 should get the incoming calls to his mobile phone
and so on...

Any suggestions on how this could be done ?

You can use a dummy extension to achieve this. Create a dummy extension (i.e. 998) and route your "outside office hours" calls to it. For the dummy extension, configure the Forward/Exceptions rules to handle the calls how you like. Be aware that the rules are handled in order, so if you have overlapping schedules, the first will always apply. Also, if you enable the "emergency out of office" feature in 3CX, it will always default to the first rule regardless of the schedule.
