Can a 3CX VAD project be built to prompt caller for account number and access code and then play back that callers account balance if stored in a Micro$oft SQL database?

Sounds great, how does it do the text to speech? or say "Your balance is $500.01"?

    Currently you have 2 options:
    1) Use an External Code Execution component to create a wav file using Microsoft TTS available in .NET 4.0. Then play that file name to the user.
    2) Create a component to play any number, using conditional components. This is a bit more complex, but doesn't require programming knowledge.

Shortly we'll be releasing a new VAD version that includes the ability to play audio file using TTS, without needing to create a DLL for that.

    Regards,

    Ok, sounds good.

Which leads to another question: Have you integrated with a compnay called Jack Henry & Associates? They have banking software called Symitar. We'd like 3CX to integrate with this system and work in real-time fashion over what they call a SymConnect API connection. The account balance should work fine with a SQL call...but we'd also like callers to transfer money from one account to another and this will require a bit more programming and not just a database read. Over 600 credit unions use the software. http://www.symitar.com

    Does this sound feasible?

Well, I don't have experience with that API, but if the SQL component does not fit your needs, you can always use an External Code Execution component. With the External Code Execution component you can do anything you want with external systems. You can create a DLL to connect to any external system and use the API you need. So it should be doable with that component.

    kylejoe1,

We have done this multiple times successfully in many situations. We have published a component for anybody else to use in their own VAD projects that will let you read a number back to the caller using Text to Speech.

    You can get it here:
