I ham stuffed in trying to simply load the 3cx proxy manager to a PC for running phones in a remote office.
The installation is fine until it tries to start the 3cx proxy service, at this point it says 'verify you have permission to start the service.
This is a completely new PC (windows XP pro). I am using the full administrator log on. the following is info and things that have been tried.
All updates loaded.
down loaded the MSI file through firefox.
restarted the pC after each stage.
It does not have the option to run as administrator.
at this stage the service is loaded so have tried ticking 'allow desk top what ever .. in the services properties.
have tried starting the services manually.
I have googled till the cows come home but still no luck.

any suggestions anyone???

whoops typo - 'proxy manager FAILED to start'!

So, before installing, did you right click on the downloaded file, select "Run as", then select the administrator?

I had issues trying to run the 3CX Skype Gateway in Win 7 even though I assumed I was the administrator, being the only user.

You might be able to stop the Proxy server, or whatever part might still be running, then open Windows Explorer, find the directory and exe file and start it in the same manner, if you haven't tried that yet.

leejor- thanks

this is on instalation so it is not an option to try and stop and restart as such, the program is not even insatlled at the stage i have a problem. also there is not an option to run as administrator, which is what i am looking for. It is strange that every other file does apart from this 3cx MSI.

keep the help comming

Hi donside,

3CX SIP proxy manager might work on Windows XP but no testing is done on that OS since it is a 13 year old product (and support will soon be terminated (April 8th, 2014). That means that for XP there will be, no new security updates, no hot-fixes or any other kind of support, which might end up exposing a company to security risks and lack of independent software and hardware manufacturer support. i would suggest that you run 3CX SIP Proxy manager on a Windows 7 pc and see if your issue has been resolved. If you have any further questions or inquiries please don't hesitate to let us know.

Best Regards
