    Question about the Call Control API sample

    I’ve read the “NOTE THAT WE CAN NOT PROVIDE DEVELOPER SUPPORT ON THIS API. We are working on developer support packages however these are not available yet.” bit, this is a question about the scope of api’s usage not how to use it (yet :))

    Is the api for applications that only run on the pbx server or will it also be able to run on a remote client machine to?

    Also is there any documentation on the [ConfService] section of the 3CXphonesystem.ini configuration file?

    Brief answer:
    API supports external (from other host) access but it is not recommended to use it. You should wrap this API using http (recomended https or any SSL based) protocol and use that wrapper (placed on local host) as an access point.

    Hi Stepan,

    Could you tell me how to configure the api to accept external hosts?

    PhoneSystem.CfgServerHost = "ipofserver";

    Does not work...

    Thanks in advance

    Call Control API is the part of PBX the same way as OS API is the part of the operating system. If you need to use Call Control API then you should use it on the PBX host. If you need to provide remote access to your application (which is based on Call Control API) then you need to use suitable technologies to provide it.
