Hi,

We are trialling 3CX for a very specific use - taking a DDI (or 100s of them in fact) inbound call and directing it either to an internal user or to an external mobile / cell phone based on various rules. This is acheived by forwarding to an extension that has an all calls forward to an external number. APIs are used to determine the destination of the call up-front before calls come in on the DDIs.

The calls come in on a VOIP provider and also leave on the VOIP provider.

I can record a call from an extension to an extension.
I can record a call from an extension to an externally forwarded extension.

But as soon as I try to record an inbound call forwared out it does not seem to record?

Is this possible with 3CX? If this is because they are on the same VOIP provider, if I used two different providers would it help?

Here's hoping...

Steve

There is an option for each extension (and some of the trunks too, I believe), PBX delivers audio. Try it with that option enabled.

Hi Leejor

The inbound and outbound forwarding extensions have both got "Record all calls" ON and "PBX Delivers Audio" ON.

The VOIP provider has "PBX Delivers Audio" ON also.

I can't see anywhere else this could be enabled or disabled...

Hope you can help...

Steve

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.
Please read the forums rules regarding requesting for help, this will aid you in obtaining assistance faster, and avoid post which aren't following the regulations to get deleted.

It would be better if you could post the logs of a full call that you are trying record. Please remember that it is important the the PBX is in verbose mode. To set the machine into verbose mode, from the management console, settings > Advanced > verbose mode. And restart all 3CX services.

Thanks mfm,

Have added the logging as requested and run the traces - unfortunately having problems - not sure if there is an upload limit - so will try to do in two posts...

I have also tried turning off PBX delivers audio for the two VOIP providers but it has made no difference. Not sure which logs you would prefer (with that setting on or off).

Here is the first half anyhow.

EDITED BY MFM: when i asked for the logs I actually meant a snippet like this:

still cannot upload CallHistoryService.Log and 3CXPhoneSystem.Trace.log I presume as theyare too big for the forum, so I have added these into a ZIP for upload...

Many thanks

So lastly, here is the complete set of logs with "PBX Delivers Audio" back ON (and a system reboot) on both the in and outbound VOIP Providers.

Many thanks

Hi Steve,

Made a small edit to your post, please read the forum rules regarding posting logs and information. Now from what i can see in the log file you submitted is that there is no attempt for the 3CX to record any calls at all. Please make sure that call recording is done at all legs of where the call has to pass from.

p.s. Diagnosing logs as you send them is done by opening a ticket with us collection the support logs and we will indetify and route where exactly it is passing from. So if you do have paid support you should open a ticket.

Thanks mfm

In future will add a snippet, but did not know which one you would need :|

Unfortunately we are trialling 3CX so do not have a support plan in place - unless we can get this working it won't do what we need, so am reluctant to purchase support in case the answer is that it can't record when not to an internal extension.

Unfortunately, the 3CX VOIP Providers tab does not have a record all calls option and all the extensions are ON already.

Where do I go from here?

Steve

HI,

I checked with support over here. There is currently no way of recording calls coming into the PBX and being sent out again. You may post a feature request if you wish. I apologize for not advising you earlier but I was not sure until now.

Hi Mark,

Thansk for your help - i will request this as an enhancement as suggested
