Hooowdy folks.... Question.

has anyone managed to register an iPhone as a remote extension over the WAN ('Net) to 3CX on SUBNET?

Also,

Is it beneficial to place a second NIC in a 3cx box and use a PUBLIC IP for outside phone registrations, or will NAT suffice?

please enlighten.

Many have. As long as you have all the necessary ports forward to your 3CX on the firewall (5060udp, 9000-9099udp), it'll work just fine. It's not recommended nor necessary to have a secound nic in your 3CX box and use a public IP.

Like captain said, never place your 3CX on the public internet. It's a windows server... nuff said.

Anyways, also, if you have ever changed your FDQN, this will cause issues with your config file sent out via welcome email.
If you have a internal FQDN of .local, the IOS device will never ever be able to connect.
