Remotely setup divert calls to... (ex-DISA)

    Is there a way (functionality) that lets one's extension set the 'forward calls to' to an other extension?

    General tought about this topic is following:
    Outside of business hours a 24h service is staffed with people carying mobile phones.
    When a call reached the PBX it is forwarded to the person responsable for taking the calls outside of business-hours.
    In certain scenarios (fi is he's stuck doing an intervention) it could be handy to call in to the PBX and have it alter it's forward settings to a collegue.

    In previous days this could be accomplished by DISA functionality. You could us your own phone to alter settings on an others extension. So there was an 'ouside-of-business-hours' extension which was the destination for all calls in off-business-hours scenarios. This extension was set to forward all calls to the responsible's mobile. Through a nifty digital receptionist we could set the forward-rule on the nightly extension to someone's others mobile phone number. This was done sending out DISA commands to that extension... You could call in to a DID and the digital receptionist asked to press a number to divert nightly calls to. After pressing fi 4 a message was played that person 4 had become the new night-responsible.

    Do we have these capabilities in 3CX? Or is there an other way around to accomplish this?

    Or is this a task that can be accomplished through the us of the VAD?

    While 3CX doesn't have a DISA function, it is possible to "simulate" one using the security features of an SPA-3102. I'm not sure if that would give you the functionality that you are looking for. It requires a PSTN line, that when dialled, can use Caller ID, or PIN based access to dialtone from one extension. Any features that you can do from that extensions keypad could then be duplicated/dialled.
    Someone else that already uses a similar scenario that you are trying to set-up, may have a better solution for you.
