    Hello,

please add the function to log into or off a ring group.

Now an administrator has to login to the management console and add or remove an extension from a ring group. This happens on a daily basis at our customers. It would be much better if extensions can log into a ring group by themselves.

    Thanks in advance

Why don't you use queues instead of ring groups?

Because a queue works totally different than a ring group.

In a ring group the caller hears the ringtone until somebody answers the call. In a queue the PBX answers the call instantly and puts the caller on a waiting line playing MoH. And that's not what we want. Our customers and ourself want that the call is not answered until a real human gets on the phone. We do not want the PBX answering the call and playing music.

If you know how to config a queue not to answer the call then we could use this as a workaround.

Almost all old ISDN PBX we exchange had this feature built in. That you can switch on and off a ring group. Some are from year 1990 or even older, so our customers doesn't believe us when we tell them that their new VoIP PBX from the 21st century don't have such a feature.

After 3CX got Hotdesking with the last update this is the only feature we and our customers are missing from 3CX.

PS: Sorry for the very late answer.

we also need a possibility to allow user log in to a ring group.

Queues are fine, but not always a solution.
For example, a call from a doorbell with intercom and door opener can only be managed with a ring group.
We have tried some dirty ways like write to the database with CFD.
It works, but only after to restart of the service ...

User allow to login/logout to a ring group is a needful feature!

Take a queue and change the MOH for that queue to a progress tone. Technically the call is answered, but the caller will just here a progress tone.

Not a clean solution, but maybe a workaround

Sadly not helpfull. If a queue takes the call from the door there is possibility to open the door from the extension via shortcut.

We also would benefit from this feature please. We are evaluating a move from our current phone system (from 1998) which has it and some others, it would seem, that are surprisingly missing from 3CX.
