I have a server that runs Windows Server 2008. It has hyper-v running with 3cx on a virtual machine running server 2008. I have telephones connected and have setup a digital receptionist. When I dial the digital receptionist from inside (dial direct extension) or call in from outside with it set to go to the digital receptionist the voice prompt does not play. Also when you dial the voice mail from an internal extension the voice prompt does not play and it hangs up. The virtual machine and the physical machine does not have a sound card. Is a sound card required for these prompts to work? Am I missing something? Thank you for the help in advance.

Ok I found another post that recommends installing desktop experience feature.
I have installed desktop experience and k-lite codec pack and now when I dial voice mail or a digital receptionist I get "an error occurred in IVR session, sorry". I am trying all the http://wiki.3cx.com/documentation/troubleshooting/troubleshooting-ivr-errors so far it doesn't work. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.

ilkeryildiz : What problems -- Do you hear error in the ivr or nothing at all?
IIS is not standard in a web edition installation. So there may be some tweaks that need to be made. Also I think that webedition does not have desktop experience so you cannot play MP3 files.
In version 8 this should not be a problem however because all the recordings are Wav. You will only need to change the default music on hold because only that is MP3.

Send the logs just the same so we have a quick look at them Location: ProgramData\3CX\Data\Logs

btb128 - When you installed IIS, did you change some settings? Added/disabled some checkboxes?
Can you post the IVR server trace logs from the logs folder? ProgramData\3CX\Data\Logs
Open IIS admin console and click on the IVR website. Do you see MIME TYPES option there?

    Thanks

Ok - You have Get errors = We need to check the services / website.

What do you have IIS or cassini installed?

If IE cannot display the page the first thing you should do before tackling audio is check whether the services / websites are running.

Can you access the management console (web) or the myphone?
