Possibility to view codec used (g.729, g.711, g.722, ...) on active calls in real time via the 3cx management console. maybe both on extension status and on trunk status.

It's a good idea for diagnostic activity. ;)

I think an entire dashboard would be nice...

Calls today / in / out
minutes today / in / out
Calls this week / in / out
minutes this week / in / out
Calls this month / in / out
minutes this month / in / out

    current # calls in progress
    codecs in use
    etc...

Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...

    Any news to this...?
I have invested hours now, simply to try get the active used codec by a connection.

I was able to get the used codec for an external connection (pstn) by activate a trace on the 3cx, download the result file and open it in WireShark (not really comfortable).
But I was not able to get the used codec for an internal call...
Any hint's, how to get the used codec for an internal connection?
=> This should be showed in realtime in the console...

    Hi all

I think, I am able to answer my question above (“any hint's, how to get the used codec for an internal connection?”) myself now.
As this should be interesting also for other users, a short description below...

    Prerequisites (I think):
The log level settings have to be set to “verbose” to receive all details
The option “PBX delivers Audio” has to be disabled to see the detail to the codecs
    Installed WireShark (see below)

    Short description:
Activate dashboard, click Button „Activity log“
    Then click button “Capture”
Then make your test phone call (call, hold for a few seconds, hang up)
    Then stop the capture
After the stop, a form with a download link to the dump is showed (note: the dump is not stored on the 3cx, so you have to download the file)
Download the file and open it with WireShark (if you don’t have it, you (really) should install it - it’s very powerful and free)

If the log is opened in WireShark, you can see the used codecs and many more (there are special functions implemented in WireShark to analyze especially VoIP calls and RTP connections).
    Hope this helps other users...
