I have an Avaya sip trunk coming to the 3cx. 3cx is version 8. I can get the calls to come in and follow the path that's set when building the sip trunk. In my case it's an unregistered extension 1000 which then sends it to the message unavailable or unregistered.

What I would like to happen is the call to connect to the extension dialed directly from Avaya to 3cx without creating DID's for every extension. I have over 1000 DID's (max available by 3cx). I've seen this work on Cisco and Asteriks but I'm not sure what the difference was. I didn't set those up.

I basically built a default sip trunk, entered the ip address of the Avaya server, clicked next next next...... Opened the trunk went to source id and set it to id with IP address. I also check marked the "allow outgoing sip calls" and put the local ip address as the domain (10.210.2.9) under settings>>advanced. That's all I've done so far.

Here is a 3cx log of a call from ext 1047 (avaya) to ext 5662 (3cx)..
    Avaya Trunk is 10.201.6.7
    3cx is 10.210.2.9
    sip trunk ext is 10000

What other information would be of help. Thank You very much for looking and trying to solve this!

Re: Trying to get Avaya sip trunk to "pass thru" without DID

Same problem here, Cisco Call Manager and 3cx... I created extension numbers as DID on 3cx...

If I didn't have over 1000 extensions the dids would work. But I'm stranded at this point.

Solution: the vendor was sending the wrong IP address to us. The address they sent to us was our own. In the log you can see the to and from extension look like they are from the same IP. Once that was corrected a default generic sip trunk worked amazingly well with no adjustments, no inbounds adjustments...nothing, it just works.
