We use the API and makecall to initiate a call form various apps.
Prior to v14, when this happened, the user extension called and the user accepted the call. This started the call to the destination. At this point a dial tone could be heard.

Now, when the call is accepted by the extension user, the call goes on to the hold message/music.

If this is a busy sales environment, the user cannot hear what is going on. Is it ringing, how many rings, is it engaged etc.

Is there a way to change this to how it used to be - like you made the call from the handset?

    Hi there,

That's the way it works. While the call is not connected, you're connected to the music on hold. Once the call gets connected, both parties can talk. Unfortunately there is no way to configure this. You might want to try changing the music on hold, but that applies for all the calls in the system.

You can ask this as a new feature here: https://www.3cx.com/community/forums/3cx-ideas.57/

    Kind regards.
