SUGGESTION Voice mail and permanent forwarding

    It looks like that if one chooses to forward their calls, voice mail options are no longer available. I think this is not right as if one forwards their phone to a destination that is not answered, the 3cx voice mail should pick up the call!

    Once forwarding is set all other voice mail options appear to dim out and are not available.

    We want to forward and have the option of 3cx voice mail if not answered at the destination

    Hi Tekknow

    You can do this by setting up ring outside number when that number does not pickup 3CX will.
    This way 3CX controls the call & so the voice mail will pickup. But with call fowarding 3CX
    does not control the the call it just passes it on. I hope this helps :?:

    I do not understand what you are speaking of. IN the extension or in the inbound rule?

    I am talking about voice mail, not an outside number. I want a permanent forward with 3cx voicemail

    My intention is this

    Pass DIDs through 3cx that the extension would serve as voice mail ONLY. Calls go to a permanent forward, and if not answered 3cx voice mail kicks in

    The way 3CX is setup & what you want to do you can't setup permanent
    forwarding because the 3CX will not answer a call that is forwarded out side
    of the system. So you need to let 3CX handle the call but also ring a number
    outside the system (forwarded number) but when that number does not pickup
    then 3CX will take the call back, then voicemail will take over from there.

    If that is what you wish to happen then don't use permanent call
    forwarding, just use a ext to forward the call & the 3cx works just
    like a landline or mobile when you use p-call forwarding neither
    system will answer the call once it has been passed on to another
    number. I hope this helps :?:

    1)...setup 1 ext's in the system
    2)...in the no answer tab check off forwarding number
    3)...put your number in that box

    The system should ring the number you wish & if there is no answer
    voicemail should pickup. :p (DON'T USE PERMANENT CALL FORWARDING)

    But an extension is not call forwarding unless you use the permanent call forwarding option.

    I think you missed something in my post.

    No I did not miss your post, if you use permanent call forwarding
    with any system, the system will not take the call back to send it to voice
    mail because it has permanently sent the call out of the system. You want
    3CX to keep control of the call so voice mail will pickup :?:
