Our lesson is that a well deployed SBC keeps the support tickets away. With smaller sites the Raspberry works fine. But then there are the call centers that justify if not demand something more robust. Lately we've been fortunate to run into a number of sites that have a virtual host server and so we've been able to put up a modest windows VM as an SBC host. While this solution has worked well, its a bit silly to be using all that OS and accompanying resources for a little old SBC. What would be really nice would be an apt-get distro of the SBC for Ubuntu (for example), which we could then use a micro sized VM to host.
