I have setup a test configuration of 3cx however I am unable to make an outbound call. Both the VOIP Trunk and the 2 extensions (3CX Softphone and SPA942) show as "Registered" and I receive a dial tone on either phone. However, when attempting to dial an outside number I get a fast busy sound although a call can be made from extension to extension. The system log shows a 404 error message when attempting to dial an outside number.

    VOIP provider is: Future-Nine
VOIP line is configured to stip the leading digit (9) Number dialed: 9xxx-xxxx
SPA942 configured to IP of 3CX server.
    ISP <> Public IP<> Cable Modem / Public IP <>Netgear FVS318 <> LAN IP (192.168.0.1) <> 3CX Server (192.168.0.2) <> SPA942 (192.168.0.3) <> 3CX Softphone on Thinkpad (192.168.0.3)

I also have a working configuration with the following: ISP <> Public IP <> Cable Modem <> Public IP <>Linksys WRV200 <> LAN IP (10.1.10.2) <> Linksys SPA9000<> Linksys SPA 400 <> SPA 962 (Two IP Phones) This configuration is also using Future-Nine as a VOIP provider. In addition to the SPA9K PBX, the SPA400 provides access to a POTS Line and hosts Voice Mail. A user of either SPA962 dials a "9" plus number to access the VOIP porvider or dials "8" plus number to use the POTS line. Although it did take some time to configure the system, it is working, however I can not seem to get the 3CX system to make an outbound call following the suggested setup in the 3CX documentation or by reviewing simular problems on this forum. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated, because at this point I am stumped. I had hoped that the 3CX solution would be easier to impliment but so far it has been a rather frustrating exercise.

Yes an Outboud Rule has been created. And I created a DID number rule. Unable to connect to 3CX. Calling DID gets email of F9 account.

i suppose it's an error in your outbound rules. verify if you have enter 1 strip digit, if yes it must be 0.

Just a quick update; am able to make outbound calls now. It turned out to be an error in the login information and DID configuration. Will post more info later to provide assistance to other readers of the forum. Next project is to configure a gateway.
