Solved Unable to reach 3CX License Activation Server.

    Hi,

    We've purchased a license, but cannot edit the license key in the 3CX Phone System Management Console.
    The only clue we have is the error message:
    However, I have tested DNS resolution from the commandline and it seems to work correctly.

    Does anybody know how to proceed with the activation?
    Our PBX has version 15.5.6354.2 and is running on top of a Debian Linux.

    Hello @Kikoen

    Please note that the licence is bound to the FQDN during installation and only during installation.
    That means that you cannot change the key without re-installing the PBX.
    If you have a new key you wish to use you need to do the following:
    Perform a backup without licence and FQDN. Save it to a non 3CX location
    Un-install the system.
    Release the current key from the FQDN if you wish to use the same FQDN by accessing https://customer.3cx.com .
    Re-install the system using the backup you created. when asked provide the new key and the FQDN.
    For future reference please note that keys are up-gradable meaning you can upgrade your current key to a higher version so you do not need to re-install the system.

    OK, I've reinstalled the system and the license key has now been changed.
    However, the PBX tells me activation has failed and I still get the message "Unable to reach 3CX License Activation Server. Confirm that your Primary DNS Server is able to resolve activation.3cx.com "
    From the command-line activation.3cx.com resolves to 151.80.125.88 .

    In that case please try using 8.8.8.8 as your primary DNS and try activating the licence again.
