Updating from 8 -> 9 question

    I have an install of 3cx v8.0.10824.716 I want to update it to the lastest version.

    I thought maybe I could just backup what I have, uninstall, install v9 sp5, restore and be done with it. But apparently not, since3cx prompt me to update to version 8 13357 before doing an update to 9.

    However, The download link in the updater in 3cx is ghosted. There is another link as well but that leads to a 404 error. I go to look for the version 8 build 13357 on the 3cx site and can't find it anywhere.

    I don't have a huge window to keep the system down, so I would be most grateful for some good info on what would be the most prudent thing to do.

    Forgot to meantion that I do have upgrade insurance.

    Hey Aho,

    Well first off, you are seeing it gray simply because you are not accessing from the management console. If this issue peresists I advise you do the following exactly in the order I have written below.

    1. Creat a backup.
    2. Unistall 3CX version 8.
    3. Reinstall 3cx version 8 from link below.
    http://www.3cx.com/downloads/3CXPhoneSystem8.exe
    4. Resore.
    5. Backup again.
    6 Uninstall 3CX version 8 again.
    7. Download version 9 (link below).
    http://www.3cx.com/downloads/3CXPhoneSystem9.exe
    8. Install version 9.
    9. Restore Backup.
    10. Recreate forwarding rules for every extension.
