    I've been testing 3CX for a while now and have been able to figure everything out except one remaining problem. We have a PRI terminating on a Cisco 1760V gateway. From there we're going to the 3CX server using SIP. I've created a gateway in 3CX as well as an inbound route, but I'm having a problem getting inbound calls to terminate correctly on the server.

    I've created a PSTN device for the g/w and created a port ID and Auth ID of 10002. When an incoming call comes in, I see a 407 proxy auth required going from the 3cx to the g/w. The g/w responds with the auth info that appears correct:

    P
    Code:
    roxy-Authorization: Digest username="10002",realm="3CXPhoneSystem",uri="sip:10.1.10.118",response="0a32e3a0a0103a6cdd503adefccb100b",nonce="414d535c01cbf36033:92f692e1ab14e7a7f4309796a63b5ee4",algorithm=MD5

    The underlying trace log shows the following lines/error:

    12:33:36.713|.\ServerAuthManager.cxx(129)|Trace5|Resip|::ResipLogger:Checking for auth result in realm=3CXPhoneSystem A1=
    12:33:36.713|.\ServerAuthManager.cxx(134)|Trace5|Resip|::ResipLogger:[b]User unknown 10002 in 3CXPhoneSystem[/b]
    12:33:36.713|.\Helper.cxx(375)|Debug8|Resip|::ResipLogger:Helper::makeResponse(SipReq:  INVITE 6749@10.1.10.118:5060 tid=2AA7EF1 cseq=INVITE contact=9145551212@10.1.10.119:5060 / 102 from(wire) [b]code=404 reason=User unknown[/b].
    12:33:36.713|.\DialogUsageManager.cxx(866)|Debug8|Resip|::ResipLogger:SEND:
    The end result to the g/w is a 404 user unknown.

    I have disabled the requires registration for inbound/outbound.

    Bottom line, if i have a port id and auth ID of 10002 set up in 3CX why is it returning user unknown??

    Thanks for any help.

    I think URI should be not
    Code:
    uri="sip:10.1.10.118"
    but
    Code:
    uri=sip:10002@10.1.10.118
    or
    Code:
    uri="sip:10002@3CXPhoneSystem
    Try to adjust this in your gateway.

    Thanks for your help. I've been having a lot of grief with the Cisco gateway and authentication.

    Instead of figuring out the compatibility problems, I successfully configured the gateway as a custom VOIP provider and trashed the PSTN device configuration.

    As far as I can see there's no disadvantage to me running my gateway as a VOIP provider, right?

    Thanks,
    Eric Mandel

    I was not able to implement the solution. I believe that I had a limitation of the Cisco IOS running on the router which didn't allow me to set authentication usernames on a line basis.

    The workaround I came up with is working well for us, which is using the gateway as a generic SIP provider.
