For the emergency numbers under PBX->Emergency numbers we can specify a trunk which is great. The problem is when we have multiple locations using the same PBX and they each have their own trunk we want to be able to specify where emergency numbers go. For now we are having to delete emergency numbers and just use outbound rules but the problem is that emergency numbers are taking precedence over outbound rules.

so the request is: Allow to specify extension groups in emergency number routing.

Yes. We have customers with this same issue. One customer has locations over a wide area using the same 3CX PBX (i.e. Office, factory, maintenance shop and warehouse), some are on the other side of the city.

The emergency number (911) is dialed out on the first trunk in the emergency numbers list irregardless of the location. This can cause confusion and delay in emergency services being dispatched to the right location.

This really is a problem when we host 3CX for clients with multiple offices. Emergency calls from different groups need to use different trunks.
Can't you just add a checkbox to outbound rule to make it "Emergency number" rule ? We would get normal outbound rules powers and special powers of emergency number.
At this point we have to use regular outbound rules for Emergency numbers anyway.

I agree. This is not really a "nice to have feature". It is something that is a fundamental need for safe operation.
This does open the manufacturer and installers to law suits if a delay in E911 or E000 services results in a loss of life.

I would think that the 3CX lawyers would have pushed for this change a while ago.

Yes please. We would like the ability to define per group or by extension range which trunk is used when calling the emergency number (which is possible now through Outbound Rules) AND be able to include the emergency number in PBX Settings to take advantage of notifications, and to ensure that this number can always be connected regardless of other settings.

As others have pointed out, at the moment it's one or the other.

We have multiple locations (all using the one PBX), and have a SIP trunk for each location so it's important for us that we use the correct trunk when calling the emergency number.

@NickD_3CX - if it's possible to have both currently, I'd love to know how.
