With 3CX, does anyone know if it's possible to create a voicemail box without the ability to leave a message? We are looking for a simple way users can leave recorded messages that change frequently for callers. We want callers to dial into the system, listen to the greeting and not be able to leave a message. We are trying to set it up this way instead of through the digital receptionist because we want the users to easily be able to change the greeting multiple times a day.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

You have three choices to play a message to a caller, VM, Digital receptionist, and queue, unfortunately none are actually designed to just play a message. This means that you have to deal with what the original purpose of each function, was.

The best bet is to record an "information message" in the voicemail box, and don't indicate that a message can be left, perhaps even repeat the message a couple of times , then leave a long period of silence, in the hopes that the caller will hang up. Yes some may catch on, and try to leave a message, but there was no promise to return the call...so too bad.
