    When I dial 999 to get into the VM system nothing happens. That is to say that I do not hear anything. According to my phone(grandstream gxp2000) and the Assistant it says that I have 12 messages, but cannot get them.

    I just enabled VM for testing and I am having a hard time understanding what the problem is.

    The following is from my server status log:

    14:39:44.993 StratInOut::eek:nCancel [CM104009] Call(3): Call from Ext.200 to 999 has been terminated
    14:39:29.649 CallLegImpl::eek:nConnected [CM103001] Call(3): Created audio channel for Ext.200 (71.164.118.45:20983) with Media Server (192.168.1.3:7004)
    14:39:29.556 CallConf::eek:nIncoming [CM103002] Call(3): Incoming call from 200 (Ext.200) to sip:999@192.168.1.3

    Please help.

    Good afternoon

    On the Grandstream GXP 2000 press the blue up arrow button on the upper right side of the phone. If this lists a bunch of numbers or extensions then what you are seeing is most likely missed calls. you can then use the same set of navigation buttons to navigate the menu and delete all the missed call messages.

    Take care,

    I have (almost) the same exact server status messages you have. EXCEPT my phone is on the same network as the 3CX server.

    [CM104007] Call(41): Call from Ext.100 to 999 has been terminated by Ext.100; cause: BYE; from IP:192.168.2.108

    15:29:15.340 MediaServerReporting::DTMFhandler [MS211000] Call(41) Ext.100: DTMF (RTP) from 192.168.2.108:16426 arrived. in-band DTMF tone detection is turned off.

    15:29:11.683 CallLegImpl::eek:nConnected [CM103001] Call(41): Created audio channel for Ext.100 (192.168.2.108:16426) with Media Server (192.168.2.8:7106)

    15:29:11.590 CallConf::eek:nIncoming [CM103002] Call(41): Incoming call from 100 (Ext.100) to sip:999@192.168.2.8

    Try:
    1) Do you have the checkbox set for Extension is External?
    2) Call into the system and dial 999. Can you get to your mailbox that way?

    I was aware of that feature, thankyou. No I did indeed have 12 voicemail messages. The message waiting light was blinking and the phone said 12 voicemails.

    what is strange is that the log is showing my public Nat's address and not my private internal address. If I therefore enable device is external it works fine. This is strange as the device is internal, and on my single subnet private test lan.

    I guess my new question is how does one change a device from external to internal if the check box does not seem to work? Is it a device re-registration thing, and if so how does one reregister an extension?

    Do you have a router in between the phone and the server? Your phone IP is 192.168.1.x correct, same gateway, same DNS?

    Rob,

    Yes same subnet no router in between. Actually the 3CX box is running on my production SBS2003 box.

    I figured out why I was using my external public nat'd address. In my grandstream phone I had setup a STUN server stun.3cx.com. So all calls were bouncing off from that server hence the public IP.

    what do you mean you were having problems transferring. are u referring to your other post? and if so you say you were having problems transferring, does this imply that you figured it out. If so please share.

    Depends on what transferring I was talking about. I had a couple issues:

    1) Someone on the phone and transfer to them. Before I got their VM and no ringing at the other extension.
    That seems fixed. Not sure how, might have been as simple as a phone reboot. Now it rings and I can do an attended xfer or a blind xfer.

    2) Transferring to an external # from the phone doesn't work. (Main post we're both seeing issues with)

    3) Still don't know how to transfer someone to a VM without having an attended or blind xfer. Just want to directly to VM, no phone ringing.
