We're unable to respond to menu trees on outbound calls.

I've searched forums and it appears that I need to set DTMF=Inband but don't see this option in v10 interface or within Polycom web interface.

My provisioning template is:

<tone>
<tone.dtmf
tone.dtmf.rfc2833Payload="101"
/>
</tone>

Suggestions?
Bob

your sip trunks or voip gateways and the phones must match in order to successfully use any ivr services. normally RFC2833 is the standard but it does depend on your sip trunk or voip gateway

tone.dtmf.viaRtp 0 or 1
1 If set to 1, encode DTMF in the active
RTP stream, otherwise, DTMF may be
encoded within the signaling protocol only
when the protocol offers the option.
Note: tone.dtmf.chassis.masking should
be enabled when tone.dtmf.viaRtp is
disabled.

tone.dtmf.rfc2833Control 0 or 1

If set to 1, the phone will indicate a
preference for encoding DTMF through
RFC 2833 format in its Session
Description Protocol (SDP) offers by
showing support for the phone-event
payload type; this does not affect SDP
answers, these will always honor the
DTMF format present in the offer since
the phone has native support for RFC
2833.

tone.dtmf.rfc2833Payload 96-127 (127)

The phone-event payload encoding in the
dynamic range to be used in SDP offers.

here is the manual for the sip 3.2.2 firmware

Thank you!!

I downloaded XML Notepad (http://xmlnotepad.codeplex.com/), removed the errors in polycom.ph.xml and added the highlighted change:

<tone>
<tone.dtmf
tone.dtmf.rfc2833Payload="101"
tone.dtmf.viaRtp="1" />
</tone>

Reprovisioned my phone, called Cisco (my test) and started navigating their menu tree with ease.

Thanks again!

Sorry to resurrect such an old post, however;
I am having a similar issue in v14 with a polycom 501, I note that I did not have tone.dtmf.viaRtp="1" in my config under tone, but adding that did not change the issue. What other errors did you remove that you mentioned? Thanks!

Hi. We were on Polycom v3.x firmware. We've since upgraded to v4.x firmware which is 1000% better.

We're now using the stock Polycom Template from 3CX and it's working fine.

Good luck,

Bob
