Configuring the Trunk with 3CX
The general instructions outlining how to add a new SIP Trunk to your 3CX installation can be found here.
Adding the Trunk
More specifically please make sure that the correct template is selected when adding the trunk to the phone system. The template can be found under LU in the “Add SIP Trunk” menu. You will be asked for the main trunk number which should be in E164 format (e.g. +358135791691). Once you click the OK button the general settings page will open where the registration details can be configured
You will need to fill in the Authentication ID and Authentication Password. These will be provided by MixVoip with the acquisition of the trunk.
Adding Additional DIDs
To associate all other DIDs/Numbers you have in your MixVoip account with 3CX, you must go to the Management Console → SIP Trunks, double-click on your MixVoip Trunk and go to the “DIDs” tab.
Here you should already see 1 entry that is the Main Trunk number you have set. Add all other DIDs/Number you have to the list in a E164 Number format (e.g. +352135791691) and press OK once you have finished.
Creating Inbound Rules
Now that you have associated all your DIDs/Number with your SIP Trunk in 3CX, you can create Inbound Rules to set where calls will be routed when those numbers are called. Instructions on how to create Inbound Rules can be found here.
Caller ID & DTMF Settings
MixVoip has a user login portal where additional configuration can be made. To login to the portal you need to navigate to https://pbx.mixvoip.com/ and use the trunk credentials to login.
Once you are logged in, navigate to the “Voip Settings” tab. There you should set:
- “Caller ID Number” to Dynamic
- “DTMF mode” to RFC2833
You can also add more codecs if you require them.
You can also see and edit your credentials from the User management tab.
When configuring MixVoip Trunks in 3CX, numbers must be entered in an international format (e.g. +352135791691).
Outbound Caller ID
MixVoip SIP Trunks supports any number in the correct format to be sent as outbound caller ID.
There are no special instructions regarding Outbound Rules that are required, numbers can be dialed either in national format , or full + e164 format (e.g. +352135791691)
To be able to set and receive Fax through T.38, you need to access the MixVoIP portal and create a user under the “User Management” tab with a username ending in Fax and register that user as a new trunk in the 3CX management console. This new Trunk will only be used only for sending and receiving Faxes.
Once you created the user you can click on the name and a new page will open where the credentials for that user will be retrieved.
