A customer asks me for Teams:
Is it possible to assign the additional Teams (Phone System) license only to secretaries so that they can then pass calls to extensions directly on Teams?
So in fact, do not buy phone system licenses for all users, and from the call retrieved directly from Teams pass it to another user who does not have the Phone System license.

I guess not, but asking never hurts.

Hi!

Technically this is possible, yes, and actually this is the recommendation we say as 3CX, not to have all your users with Teams client (and Phone System licenses), just the few users that need to have it, and the majority to use native 3CX Clients.

My question though is, do you even need the secretaries to have Teams at all? What calls would they be receiving and how, that they would need to have Teams, to then transfer them to pure 3CX users?

In fact, the customer already has a lot of users in Teams and the calls must arrive at the post operator stations, and then they must be sorted ... so you tell me that it is possible to have 2 users with the phone system license, and these can forward a call that arrives on teams to another user teams without the license phone system ??

If I understand correctly what you are saying, yes, as long as the Calls are coming through a SIP Trunk provider that is registered on 3CX.

That is also one of the biggest gains of this integration, being able to utilize your 3CX SIP Trunks for in/out calls, while at the same time, some of your users have the Teams integration active, while the majority have the 3CX Clients.

Your best bet though to make sure this is what you want, try it out, if you already have users with MS Phone System licenses, give it a shot.
