3CX Free, Supported Trunks

Hi All,

Given that the distinction between different Supported trunks has all but gone from the 3CX website and it says on there that both supported, as well as preferred providers are compatible with all 3CX installation modes, is there something I'm doing wrong with a customer we have that's looking at 3CX SMB Free where we can't choose Voiceflex in the trunk provider list?

With the 3CX SMB Free plan, only supported SIP trunk providers can be configured. This restricts users to a selection of pre-configured, 3CX-approved providers, ensuring compatibility and smooth integration without the need for complex configurations. Providers that aren’t listed within the console, such as unsupported or generic SIP trunk providers, cannot be used on this plan.

This limitation simplifies the setup process for smaller businesses, allowing for easier deployment. However, for customers requiring more flexibility, such as the option to configure unsupported SIP providers, a paid 3CX PRO or ENT subscription is needed, as these plans remove the restriction and allow for a broader range of configuration options.

This trunk is supported. That's why he is wondering why it's not available for smb

Its not supported on SMB Free, because SMB Free is multi tenant and provider needs to support rinstance. SO voiceflex is supported on dedicated only.

rinstance is required because it allows us to quickly identify for which tenant and incoming call is without compromising on security and performance. It is this way that we are able to support many tenants reliably.

Now on multi tenant partners can take a single generic trunk and use DID to route to individual tenants no problem. But if a customer wants to configure their own trunk it must support rinstance.

If I'm not overstepping, perhaps someone could take a minute to address this on the supported trunks page? I've got to go explain to my boss now that 'compatible with all installation modes' doesn't quite mean what it says . If you don't hear from me, you know why .
