Solved Background images in video conferences

Hi,

i dont know if this would already discussed:

Would it be possible to upload and take background images in the video conference like in Teams or Jitsi?
This would be very nice and is also requested several times from customers.

Have you tried it? It's freaking slow and laggy.

I agree this example is not the best one, but it's working (and open source)
it's use a lot of CPU, after it's the choice of the user to activate or not

Yeah, it works. It's not perfect and like you said, uses a lot of CPU. It wouldn't make sense.

Also, your laptop is fine, my tower wasn't and I do have a powerful CPU+RAM, so I guess mileage may vary.

This will never happen. Let's make that clear right now.

3CX is proprietary for many reasons, and allowing the code to be open-source would break the security of the system.

I got a better idea: just use Zoom, Teams, Jitsi, or whatever else works for you.

I total understand your desire for background blur functionality and you have already given the answer to why we currently don't do it!

The no. 1 reason today for a meeting with bad quality and stuttering appearance is a limitation on the client-side hardware. When the CPU starts throttling then the outcome of the meeting overall is bad and not desired.

All the "solutions" presented above cause a CPU load of ~50% to produce the effect of blurred background (and we haven't converted it yet to a stream to sent). Some work better than others on the trade-off of Quality or CPU. Overall it all would cause a very bad meeting output for over 90% of the customers. As a reference, even teams meetings joined from the web do not allow you to enable blur if your PC specs cannot do it. Given that my laptop isn't of any bad specs, they don't allow me to use it from the browser...
