I have two SIP trunk providers for this installation.
The first, call it SIP1, was used to forward all previous numbers to a new "temporary" number that came into 3CX.
There is only 1 number in SIP1 DID list.

The new SIP Provider, call it SIP2, is where all the existing company numbers have been ported to.
In the SIP2 DID list are all the ported numbers. Calls are coming in to the PBX just fine..

However, the call LOG is listing FROM as callerNumber:SIP1, although the number is in the SIP2 Providers DID list.

I'm trying to troubleshoot inbound FAX numbers to be routed to an external number (a fax machine) but the calls are going to the operator, not routing externally, and noticed this discrepency.

I think I can answer my own question:
I have a SIP Trunk entry for SIP1. In the General tab the "Route To" is set to the Operator. Good.
I see this trunk also in the Inbound Rules section.
So I added an Inbound rule for each of the DID's in the SIP2 list...now the caller log shows the caller ID. I think that I was just missing Inbound rules for each DID number. Correct me if that's incorrect!

It depends on what provider you are using and how the source identification is being performed. It was probably matching the worn g trunk for some reason. If everything is working OK now then you should be OK.
