Solved Caller display on ring groups

Hi,

I have a small 'cosmetic' issue that I cannot find a solution for.

I have group of Fanvil X6U's on a ring group. When an incoming call comes in the display shows

##########:GROUP -->N->A->M->E

The group names are cutoff and scrolls around because the entire line is to long to fit. (note above -> is just to illustrate the scrolling effect)

Is it possible to just show the group name on the second line and not the number prepended as it is already on the first line anyway so no point showing the same number twice.

I know I can make the group names shorter but just seems a waste if screen realestate showing the same number twice and would look more professional to just display

or alternatively swap the order around to group name first and number second.

You can't really remove the number from the second number completely as that info is what is being sent by the Provider. You can however, as you said, change the order so that the Group name is prepended rather than appended and therefore shown first. Just access the Management Console, go to "Advanced >> Contacts >> Options" and where it reads "Add Group, Queue or DID/DDI Names to Caller ID" change the selection to "Prepend".

Great that worked. Would never have found that setting.

Still seems a shame to have to display the same number twice but at least they can recognise the group name quicker and not delay answering waiting for it to scroll in to view.
