Can organizer leave the web conference and then rejoin?

Question that came up;

Meeting organizer had their headset die during a meeting and then tried to dial in (was connected through the web) but received the "Prompt for conference callers" when trying to join via the DID number and the direct extension. I believe the organizer was still connected via the web, but was just calling back in for audio.

Any ideas why this would happen? Is this normal behavior?

I know if you're rejoining using the video conference, you can rejoin if you've left it, unless you choose to end the meeting, in which case everyone gets kicked out.
