Good Morning all,

I know it's easy enough to change all your forwards using the 3CX Apps, but what if you have only a handset?

I know I can use the dial codes -

*30 Turns on Available state
*31 Turns on Away state
*32 Turns on Out of Office state
*33 Turns on Custom Profile 1
*34 Turns on Custom Profile 2

To turn my profiles on and off, but what if I want to change where they forward to via the handset?

When I go through my Yealink menu options and do it from there, it does nothing when I switch this way on.

Is there a 3CX shortcode way of changing where my profiles are forwarded to?

Terri

You can assign BLF keys for changing status from IP phones if you don’t want to use dial codes.

Sorry, Charles, I think you have misunderstood my question.

I know how to turn on and off profiles in various ways. But what I would like to do from the handset, is change where the profiles forward to. So, if my Away profile currently going to my Voicemail, can I change that to go to my mobile via the handset?

So is there a shortcode that I can dial to change the routing locations of the 3CX forward profiles? When all I have is access to my hard phone?

There is no dial code that will change the configuration of the forwarding rules of an extension.

Suppose I try and set up a forward via the softkey menus on Yealink, Snom or Fanvil handsets. It doesn't work. So am I correct in thinking that if a handset user isn't allowed access to the 3CX Apps, they cannot change where they forward to without asking an administrator?

The call forwarding is based on the extension status. This means that you can change the status of the extension and configure the forwarding rules accordingly.

Yes, but how can I change where I want to forward to via the desk phone? If I have no access to the 3CX App? Are you confirming that I have to change the forward location from the 3CX App only, and it can't be done via the phone then?

This is what i mentioned, you cannot change this configuration, only the extension status.

@Terri Griffiths One can edit the statuses from an app or web client. One can change statuses from the phone by dialing the voicemail menu, usually x999.

Yes, I know this. My question is how to change the forward location, not status. And it has been answered above that the locations can not be changed via a handset. Which is a shame.

OK. I would guess at some level it's a security issue, where someone with a PIN can get free call forwarding. But I understand the ask.
