First excel to generate the numbers and the txt to import

Thanks for your reply.

Yes that worked cause I have tried it, but that only generates the DID. In the v18 we used to create all the inbound rule trough the import assigning the DIDs to users aswell. As it stands one have to assign DIDs manually and it is not ideal for a large PBX.

That is in v20 not possible anymore.

This is still possible, but just in a roundabout way. It only applies if you are configuring a new system. You will first need to import the DIDs as mentioned above. After this, you can mass import all your extensions with the DID column filled in on your csv. It will assign your DIDs to the extension during import.

This sounds to me like a removal of function. Not good news

In the CallControlAPI, it still seems to be available.
So, if you are resourceful, you could create a tool that works with the CallControlAPI to do the configuration. I admit, it does require some knowledge of C#.

Alternatively, there are many developers who are open to paid projects.

If you don't want to pay, get used to the new method... in my opinion, it's not any longer... if it goes to an IVR, during its creation, you just need to select the DID. The same principle applies to the Queue, RingGroup, etc.

It's not any longer to manually assign 200 DIDs to extensions 1 at a time than it is to import 1 CSV and have 200 DIDs assigned in less than 2 seconds? I don't follow that thought process.

The biggest problem with the new method, you have to do the DID import through the USERS instead of INBOUND RULES. This means if you have a massive system overhaul and need to change something like 50 Inbound Rules at once, you just can't. This would require deleting and re-adding users, causing massive problems with BLF functionality and losing all the voicemail/call/chat history for those extensions.

Sure, on a new build, importing DIDs then importing Users isn't too much longer, but on an existing system that needs major overhaul, it's not even useable.

Alright, would you be willing to pay me to develop a tool for automatic DID assignment? Or alternatively, you could publish your idea in the designated ‘Ideas’ category.
