Grandstream GXW4248 Question

Hi,

Hope someone can answer this question for me. I can see Grandstream have a "version2" of the GXW4248 FXS Gateway. IS this compatible with 3CX for do I need to purchase the "Version1" ?

The V2 gateways are fine. I have just deployed 18 of them...
I am, however, working on a way to have them automatically reprovision if we change what extension is connected to what port on the device. It currently seems that you need to factory reset and wait a few mins for the device to start again and read the new extension assignment from the 3CX config. It will probably be a tweak in the template so no biggie as we have to use a custom template anyway to change some defaults on 'Loop Current Disconnect' timeouts so that calls are properly ended on the old analogue handsets.

In V20 we no longer auto provision the device but we rely on the configuration on the gateway. Actually when you upgrade the template remains there but you need to reconfigure it as a SIP trunk using a new template when you have time.

This has many benefits because you can properly configure the gateway as per your specs rather then using our outdated global template that does not suit all customers. That's the background of it....
