Unsupported GXP2170 custom templates? Adding an additional account to phone

I know 3cx does not support multiple extensions on one phone and is not supported but I am willing to edit the gxp2170 template to support a feature my client has and does not want to lose. In a nut shell one of my customers has a home office he has 3 company's that he owns. He has 3 sip accounts registered on his gxp2170 and when he wants to call a customer from company A he selects that line key and dials out. For company B he selects that line key and dials out.. etc... My solution to this was creating 3 separate trunks and assign the proper DID to a dial pattern. They absolutely do not want to have to dial "11" or "9" to call out for each company they want to keep there line keys. I figure I can just create a custom template for his home office and then provision that extension. I pulled up the grandstream.ph.xml file and I only see options for account 1. I don't see any options for the rest of the accounts to manually add in.. Have any of you had success with what I'm describing for grandstream devices?

Here's the best way, because creating a custom template for a Grandstream phone sucks:

1. Provision the phone with the first extension he wants, using the desired method.
2. Remove the provisioning URL from the phone and config from 3CX.
3. Copy the settings via the Web UI from Account 1 to the 2nd and 3rd, adjusting the authentication and user ID for his other extensions.
4. Manually assign line keys in the VPK section of the phone, so that he can use them easily to change accounts. Same goes for respective BLFs.
5. Disable CSTA in the phone to prevent DND from affecting other extensions on the same phone (known limitation of CSTA.)

Also, I recommend you add your phones to GDMS. Not only you can configure those edge cases remotely and easily via the Web UI of GDMS, but also you can monitor and diagnose them when needed. Even if you are not using it for configuration.

It uses TR-069 so it doesn't interfere with regular 3CX provisioning.

This is exactly what I was looking for! thank you so much. For those who need the multiple accounts I will just set up and manage there accounts through GDMS.

Yes, and you have a lot of control in GDMS compared to 3CX provisioning. Just remember that that phone won't be supported since it's not a default supported config.
