Dear 3cx,

I would like to know how to force the system to deliver only FQDN links rather than the ip address

for example, when you initiate a session, it sends in the chat :

It possible to send only this:

or if it's not possible, any way to change the variable to have (just replacing IP by the FQDN)

My company do all necessary DNS translation (in office, in vpn)

I'm sure it's possible, maybe by modifying a specific variable in the 3cx admin interface.

Thanks

With this, do you mean that you have configured Split DNS, so internally on the LAN xxxxx.3cx.fr resolves to 192.168.xxx.xxx, and from the outside is resolves to the Public IP address?

If this is the case, you need to re-install 3CX in "Split DNS Mode".

To do this what you need to:

• Take a Full Backup without the "License Key and FQDN information" option (DO NOT release the FQDN from your license key though...)

• Download the backup to your local computer

• Uninstall 3CX

• Re-install 3CX and restore the backup

• Enter your Lic Key

At the step of the installation where it asks you if you have a Local DNS, select that you have and set the same FQDN as your External FQDN. Finish the installation as you usually would. After this, 3CX will understand that the "External" and "Internal" address is the same and use only 1 link.

Note: This will also apply to the Welcome Emails
