Hello,

We have been attempting to customize the web conference email template for a client. The client would like web conference emails to show their company name as the display name in the conference notification emails. For privacy, I'll refer to them as Acme.

We have set up a custom email server for them in Settings > Email as we know the built in 3CX relay will always display '3CX Phone System - Company Name'

Because we are forced to put a reply-to address in these settings prior to saving, we entered [email protected]

We have configured the Display Name field in Settings > Conferencing > Conference Email > Customize to ACME (changed from %%ORGANIZERNAME%%)

The client is fine with replies to the emails getting sent to the organizer, however when they create conferences, the emails still are getting delivered from [email protected] with no display name at all, basically bypassing the Display Name field altogether.

We found that to be strange, so for testing purposes we put %%ORGANIZERNAME%% back in Display Name and created another meeting. The emails still are getting delivered from [email protected]. The Display Name field once again was bypassed.

Again, I want to stress that when REPLYING to the emails, the organizer does get populated in the To: field correctly. That is NOT what we are disputing. We simply would like to know if the Display Name field in the custom email templates for Conferencing is either bugged or deprecated, because it pretty much serves no function at the moment.

I have attached screenshots. Perhaps someone else can see something we're missing.

Thank you.

Hello, thanks for the detailed explanation. On which PBX version do you have this issue?

Hello, thanks for the detailed explanation. On which PBX version do you have this issue?

My client is running Version 15.5.15502.6 Pro and is where the issue was first found, and I have tested it internally on Version 16.0.0.1375 Pro and the issue is present there as well.

Thanks.

Hello, can you send me privately raw email body? From the screenshot I cannot see some important details.

Yes, but I can tell you nothing was changed in the body of the template. It's default. The only thing they want to change is the Display Name, which is what we can't get to work. I'm messaging you now with the email body though.

In current implementation both V15.5 and V16, changing "From (Display Name)" in Edit Template dialog has no effect on webmeeting invite email sender name. Sender name will always be organizer name.

This is required for RSVP mechanism to work properly.

Your only option is to rename extensions name to "ACME" so it will be displayed as sender name.
