Hello,

We are experiencing a problem while sharing our screen in the web meetings.
There is a mouse cursor trail which does not make sense since it's also moving a bit erratically.
As far as I know there are lots of people in our company with this issue.
Is this a known problem?
We are using the latest version of Microsoft Edge.

Hi,
I tried to reproduce your issue on my pc using latest edge, but I see no probem.
The mouse cursor is rendered fine on both sides: preview on presenter side and inside the remote screen.
The frame rate is about 10fps.

Are you capturing the entire screen, a window or a tab?
Can you check if you have the mouse trail only on one side?
Is the CPU load acceptable on the pc where you see the issue?
Can you send a screenshot in order to understand exactly what do you see?

Thank you

Hi @Emanuele Bizzarri ,

1) I am sharing the entire screen.
2) When a co-host presents the screen, the issue can be observed by all the participants. There is no cursor trail on the co-host's side.
3) The cpu load is low.
4) I have attached a screenshot (The issue also happens when I am sharing the desktop. Not only on Microsoft Word).

Hi,
I can reproduce your issue sharing the second screen.
Moving the arrow on the second monitor, it produces artifacts.
The problem is that it is reproducible also using the webrtc sample link for capturing the screen:
https://webrtc.github.io/samples/src/content/getusermedia/getdisplaymedia/

It means that it is a chrome bug and then also edge is affected, because it is derived from chrome.
I am checking if they have some opened issues related to this

Sharing apps on main monitor seems not have the issue on my pc.

Also Firefox is not affected by this issue

Firefox is not a solution for us since we only use Microsoft Edge.
Do you know if there will be a fix for this or if it has been reported or not?

Thank you for reporting it!
I made a test meeting, all the participants had only one screen and we could reproduce the issue.

They suggested to launch Chrome from command line adding the flag:
--enable-features=AllowWgcDesktopCapturer

and actually it fixes the issue.

I tried with Edge, but it seems ignoring the flag.
If you cannot temporary use Chrome with the flag, you need to wait they release the fix.
Sorry for that, but it is not depending on us.

Hi,
Google Chrome 115 has been released and this issue has been fixed by Google Team.
It should work properly now
