Hi guys,

We've got 15 SIPs and 15 DIDs. We've registed the main trunk number and added the other 14 numbers in DIDs tab. We've assigned a DID in inbound rule, using one of the DID numbers to a member of staff, but when calling this DID number which we expect the call to land to the staff's device we hear "record your message or press #".

Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi @UserX what voip provider is this? is it a supported voip provider?

could you try to add the DIDs as * and the last 6 digits, for example if the did is 44123456789 then add it as *456789

if all the DIDs will use the same destination as the main trunk number, then there's no need to add all of them, since the main number will act as catch all and route the calls to main destination.

Thanks for your reply @Alejandro_3CX ,

We're using Gradwell SIPs, which is one of the preferred by 3CX in UK. I'll try your suggestion above and report back later.

Sorted. Inbound and other configuration were fine, but issues was in the way i added the numbers (01xx) instead of 441xx). changed them all and the calls are flowing to the agents with DID assigned. Thanks for the tips @Alejandro_3CX.

Now, I am trying to understand SIP vs DID vs Channels.

If I need a few DID for agents, so calls go straight to them. Do i need the same amount of SIPs as DID? So if I need 10 DID, do I also need 10 SIP, or just one for the connection is enough?

When it comes to channels, can the number of channels be increased in the same SIP?

Thanks in advance

You are welcome @UserX

Regarding your last question, the DID is the number that is assigned by your voip provider, the channels are the múltiple calls that you can receive/make in that sip trunk, for example you can have one DID and receive 10 simultaneous calls. Now, about the sip account, for example if you use the 3cx apps and enable the parameter accept multiple calls, then the user can receive up to 5 calls, or if you use a deskphone that support multiple lines, lets say 10, then if you have 10 line keys configured you could receive in that extension 10 calls.

One last thing is the size of the subscription used, if it is 32sc then you can only have 32 simultaneous calls.

I hope the info clear, have a great day!
