Would be great if the participant immediately sees that his microphone does not work if none is selected.

The new joining GUI is a great start.

In addition to the above, I also request the ability to disable microphone, camera or sound (similar to Zoom).

the screen is only intended to set up the user for a meeting.
If the meeting type is "Classroom" the user will be disabled on Join.
However if the attendee is needed to "present, show or speak" the user is correctly set up.

The icon will soon show 2 more states:
-grey of no device has been detected
-red if permission has been denied
Unfortunately we have to test on a bunch of browsers to manage this correctly

It would be great if you could disable the camera at this point. Not everyone wants to be on video and some are very averse to the idea. So just allow it to be shut off at this point....
