One phone is not receiving calls, neither a ring or on-screen notification. But when the call hangs up the device gets the missed call message instantly.

I have tried adding the extension on another mobile, works perfectly. I removed the App from the misbehaving device, still not working. To be fair this is an oddball phone (Umidigi) but this did work perfectly until last week, then suddenly stopped.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction before I have to give Samsung some $$$ to replace this device.

I experience this random, but not frequent. However I have 3 phones on one extension, so I thought, maybe it does not work reliable because of this.
In the past I had sucess by making an outgoing call. Afterwards it worked again.

If this does not help, but other phones on the same pbx function normal, it is not very likely your problem is related to problems the pbx has communicating with google. I then would try to restart phone, check if you can uninstall updates which might have been installed recently, uninstall optional firewalls, energy savers.

We might need more info on this:

Is this a notification on the device or the missed call entry in the 3CX Android Apps recent calls section?

Try the following and let us know what happens:

1. Launch the 3CX Android App and go to "Menu >> Settings >> Advanced"
Search for an option that says "Car/Bluetooth support(telecom API)". If it is enabled, disable it and try again, if it is already disabled, enable it instead.

2. If it still happens, go to "Menu >> Settings >> Advanced" and enable "Turn off Battery Usage Optimization". Also, scroll down to "Troubleshooting" and press on "Android app settings", make sure that the notification settings for incoming calls are not configured in a way that would cause issues.

3. Test while having the device connected to a different Wifi network and LTE connection, does the same thing happen?

Thanks - turning off that Car/Bluetooth option was the trick. This user never connected with BT so we've left it off, my own phone has it on and is working fine. Seems this setting is a bit fickle

Glad to hear you got this resolved!

That specific setting will have different results depending on the device brand and model. We are actually trying to gather information based on user input on how it affects different devices so that hopefully future releases will have it either disabled or enabled by default. That said, could you please provide the exact brand, model name and model number as seen in "Settings >> About device"?

Hardware details are
Brand: UMIDIGI
Model: A3
OS: Andriod 8.1.0
Build: UMIDIGI_A3_v1.4_20190321
