Hello,

I have a Professional license for 3CX on site, for 100 participiants on meetings, i know there is a 25 video limit for webmeetings, but tonight we had a webmeeting with 23 participiants and there was a pop-up that no more than 16 videos can be enabled.

Could someone tell me way there is somtimes this limitation of 16 participiants? We have tomorow night a big meeting where there must be more than 16 videos / participiants actieve at the same time.

Can i change something in de Admin console of our 3CX server to have always the maximum limit of 25 videos enabled by the webmeeting?

Hello Topper,

You can absolutely have 100 participants in a meeting, but not all of them can have their image shown at the same time. There can be 16 people with a video stream and 50 with an audio stream. The rest can view only. Otherwise the meeting becomes too difficult to manage. With 25 video streams meeting was difficult to manage for both the platform but often also the organizer.

When someone who is not shown wants to speak they can replace another person having an active audio or video stream temporarily.

Topper,

Could you send me your license key information by PM to follow up?

I am having the same issue. We have the enterprise license and I am hitting this 16 person limit. We have weekly meetings that are slightly over 16 and this wasn't an issue until a few weeks ago. Did something change?

Hi @EF13,

The 16 video limit is the correct limit. On the 14th - 15th Jan 2021 some backend servers were restarted to correct the audio / video limits. See more here.

Wasn't that limit set to 25 when COVID hit?

I remember seeing stuff about this wayyy before January this year.

You are right, at some point it was increased to 25, but for the majority if users this was causing performance issues, so we found that a better number was 16.
Also for most users, having 25 windows on screen, each participant window was too small.

Thank you for your answer, it is a pity that the number of participants has been reduced from 25 to 16. We had no problems with it and in order to hold our meetings there must be at least 23 participants visible. By reducing it to 16 participants, we may look for another meeting solution.
It would be better to implement a setting in the 3CX management console to set the maximum number of participants in a webmeeting, which can be default 16 and max 25.

Not sure if our issue today is related and happy to create another thread if so advised.

We are running Pro version of 3CX, not Enterprise as per the case above. Is the video limit the same or lower?

We have just starting using the webmeeting function this week and held a video conference with 4 people today. I could see all three of my colleagues throughout the meeting.

However When I downloaded the recording, I could only see myself and two others on the video. My fourth colleague could be heard but there was no video footage.

Would appreciate any insight please. We're planning to host some larger conference calls and would like to record them with everyone's presence.

Thanks, Rob.

@dentalimaging, with the 3CX PRO edition, you have a limit of 100 participants on any single WebMeeting, of which 16 video users and 34 audio users can be present at once, the remaining participants can join with text chat, able to see the 16 streams and hear the other 34 audio users.

The license limitations of WebMeetings are outlined here under 'Web Conferencing'.

As for your issue with the recordings, can you PM me your organizer link so that we can follow up?

Hi @VasilisV_3CX

Thanks for the prompt reply.

This was an instant webmeeting, rather than a scheduled video conference. I don't appear to have received any email other than the 3cx Meeting Report, and there is no link in the webclient or desktop client, for me to obtain an organisers link. I would PM you the video recording link from the Meeting report if that helps, but the meeting content is somewhat confidential in nature, so if there is another way of determining this info, I would be grateful.

Sure thing @dentalimaging, can you PM me your FQDN, extension number of the organizer and date / time around about when it happened so we can investigate if anything happened on the MCU to follow up.
