Hi everyone. I was on V18 and using Localphone & Sipgate as trunk providers. It has worked perfectly for years and when I installed the new V20 on an Optiplex 3040 with 256GBSSD, 8GB RAM, Core i5 processor and 3CX ISO Debian distro. I imported the backup from V18 (9) and It now does not allow me to make outgoing calls. I have attached a screenshot of the errors.

Funny enough Localphone see me as registered as does Sipgate but localphone seem to think I was in Israel so blocked me as they expected me to be in United Kingdom (Northern Ireland). However I can confirm that I am in UK here and that I am not using any VPN at all and my ip address clearly shows as being in London which is common for Northern Ireland connections so all is good there.

Sipgate though I cannot explain why I can receive incoming calls with no trouble and yet I get the 403 forbidden on the outgoing calls. I would rather if it was a config issue that it just wouldn't register then at least I would know what to do. I have to say Sipgate support has been non existent but my DID is with them and on every business card, plus I have never had any issues prior to V20, so I am hoping very much that some of you lovely people might throw me a life raft and be able to help point me in the right direction. I am willing to try anything to get this back up and running. To be clear we have 3 IP deskphones Yealinks and no need for mobile apps so no mobile use at all yet.

Hopefully I have covered everything, if not I apologise and will be willing to add more info to anyone who might be able to help.
Thanks
Ryan

The 403 is from the provider side, have you also contacted with your provider?

Hi Yes they said all is good on their end and that they believe its a 3CX settings issue. They told me to make sure the caller ID is correct e164 and use Auth ID but I think I have to no avail. Definitely stuck on this one. I thought it was good as I can receive incoming no problem.

After looking at the logs it seems to say 403 "Username in FROM field required" does that help anyone point me in the right direction as they suggested it should be auth ID

PROBLEM FIXED!!!

WHAT I DONE!

Okay so I went to Voice & Chat. Then click the three dots beside the Sipgate trunk and exported the XML template for this provider to my downloads folder.

The scroll down to: <field name="ParameterOut" custom="" parameter="FromDisplayName">
and make sure that line reads like this:
<field name="ParameterOut" custom="" parameter="FromDisplayName">$AuthID</field>

be careful of any typos.

Then in 3CX V20 you will find a section in Admin >> Advanced >> Templates and click on providers. Then click import provider and ignore the general warnings. These are because its not a preferred trunk but needs must so ignore.

You should now be able to enjoy your outgoing calls as normal on V20 assuming you have made no typos.
