Hi,

I have been a long time 3cx user and finally bit the bullet to upgrade from 3cx V14 (yes I really was running V14 for about 7 years as it performed faultlessly) to V18.

On V14, I never configured the Android client, but think it could now be useful so I downloaded the Android client, installed it on my phone (Samsumg S10+), created it's own extension, scanned the QR code and while the handset is on Wi-fi. everything works

However, the moment I turn Wi-Fi off or leave the range of the AP the handset goes from Register to Connecting.....

I am assuming this is something to do with the firewall and I have opened ports 5228-5230 and pointed them at the server, but still nothing... I have even read the manual, which said about opening the ports.... Now I have no idea.

I have checked my firewall and I am NOT getting any message about a failed access attempts....

Thoughts/advise?

Hi, 3CX mobile apps use the tunnel port 5090 TCP/UDP and the pbx HTTPS port. Check that these ports are opened in the firewall in front of the pbx.

More info about the external ports used in this link then run the firewall checker in your system to validate all is good with your settings.

Hi Alejandro,

Thank you. I had NOT configured port 5090 or the HTTPS port.

I will reconfigure and advise.

ok give it a try and let us know how it goes.

It's always best practice to confiogure all required ports for the 3CX and after check with Firewall Checker from Dashboard till everything goes green

Alejandro... It worked... Not sure which port but I opened both 5090 and 443 and everything now works :-) Thank you.

Bitn2... I know. However, I have configured my firewall to ONLY allows my trunk providers IP's though on 3cx ports. This completely stopped attacks on 3CX which at one point became so bad it was slowing down my WAN and I have not had a single breach or blacklist IP since.

The downside of this approach is that the 3CX firewall checker simply does not work...
