"OutboundCallerId" Outbound caller Id taken from Extension settings in management console.

No matter what is put into the extension, the value being used is always the Caller ID field in the SIP Trunk or the default number of the SIP Trunk if blank.

There are a few fields in the outbound trunk parameters that can determine from where caller ID is taken. It will also depend upon your provider allowing this.

My understanding is that if you put a caller ID number in the trunk settings, then that will override all others. Some use that as a second route to force showing the main business number rather than the DID of the extension.

He Leejor, thanks for chiming in. So if I put a number there, yes, it overrides all other settings (it should not because it is an explicit rule). That is just lacking in description and function. That said, if the default Caller ID is blank, you would think that the Caller ID would come from the labeled field in each extension. This was the behavior in v16. Now it is not. I can only get the SIP main number on outbound calls. This is an upgrade installation where the customer is adding another company to the system and needs the number to show as the two companies have no relationship. (and yes, the outbound setting is set to the setting afore mentioned)

So I found this behavior on multiple installations. I also found that it was pulling the setting from a different field. The extension Caller ID setting now has to be set in the P-Asserted Identity : User Part

I am not sure why there is difference between this and the From: User Part (only encryption?)

I cannot find how the two fields are used in relation to one another so if anyone can enlighten...

Twilio, behavior changed after going from v5 to v6.

Can you send a screenshot of your trunks outbound parameters?
