Questions about 3cx with local telephony provider

so I have questions about sip trucking for providers one of my local providers said they only give IP trunking into business which is called the demarcation point on the building.
so is anybody any idea what that is, and how this thing going to work well with 3cx?

I'm not quite sure what your question is. The demarc is just a generic term for where they put their hardware in the building. The connection needs to come out of there and connect to the 3CX server over the network.

You didn't specify what type of 3CX server. If it is 3CX hosted then you can't use a SIP trunk in your building since the server isn't there, and 3CX only supports a handful of SIP providers for hosted. If your server is on premises then you can either use a supported provider or use a Generic trunk and figure out the settings yourself or from your provider.

Ideally the SIP provider would give you a hostname for their service and credentials to use, and you just connect over the Internet. Having local hardware usually complicates things. And I would think, be more expensive.

If you have 3CX in the cloud and the provider installs and IP trunk on the the customer prem you would need to add a gateway there which you can setup to connect to the provider & the 3CX cloud.

It will depend on exactly, the type of service they provide, and hardware they supply (I assume). If they provide a SIP trunk over a separate connection, ADSL or fibre, then they will probably provide a "box" with Ethernet out, to connect to 3CX. This would probably have a unique public IP, different from your other internet connection and may require a second NIC.

An ATA is involved when using an analogue phone with SIP. If it involves a trunk, into 3CX, then it will be a gateway, of some sort, even if it is a PSTN phone line.
